Get Involved
Volunteers play an integral role at the Greater Oneonta Historical Society. Students and GOHS members are encouraged to give of their time and talent to advance GOHS’ mission. A volunteer application is used for prospective volunteers to indicate their areas of interest (special events, staffing, collections, etc.).

You can help support GOHS in its mission as a non-profit educational institution. Your voluntary contributions to GOHS are tax deductible. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact us.
Gifts to the GOHS Annual Appeal form the foundation of every exhibition, program, and outreach effort presented throughout the year. Unrestricted gifts enable us to address areas of greatest need and to take advantage of unexpected opportunities. Your generous donation will help us preserve the past for Oneonta’s future. To donate to the Annual Appeal online, use the PayPal button below and enter “Annual Appeal” into the Donor Comments comments section.
To make a donation to GOHS by mail, simply send a check to P.O. Box 814, Oneonta, NY 13820. Please make your check payable to “Greater Oneonta Historical Society”, and be sure to write “donation” in the memo field. We will acknowledge your donation by return letter, so please be sure to include your mailing address if it is not on your check.
Become a Member
Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of GOHS. Annual membership periods begin January 1, April 1, July 1, or October 1 (date closest to receipt of dues). Senior, Student, Military, and Individual categories allow for one member each. Other categories include all members of household. The benefits of a membership include quarterly newsletters, discounts, and occasional email announcements.
We now offer two convenient ways for you to join GOHS.
You can download and print our Membership Form below and mail it with your payment to P.O. Box 814, Oneonta, NY 13820. If you wish to donate an additional amount to the Greater Oneonta Historical Society, please indicate on the Membership Form that you wish to make a contribution.
